A Chair For My Mother (Mrs. Hug)

This week, we read the story "A Chair For My Mother" by Vera Williams. In this story, a family is faced with a house fire and they lose all of their possessions. The family begins to save money in a jar to buy a softy, comfortable chair for the mother who works long days at a diner. The children were asked to think about a time when something bad or sad happened to their family and write about it. I hope you enjoy what they shared.

Bad things that happened to my family are when one of my grandfathers died.I think that was sad because I really loved him and had fun with him and he was the closest grandfather I had. It was also sad when my grandmother had heart surgery because she was I think 78 years old and she could have died but the good thing is she survived. I think it was bad to my parents when robbers took my dads bike and took cds out of my moms car.

The she shut the door and ran across the hall and walk and whistled.My mom walked to the maid and asked "Have you seen my rings"she said."No" "Well thanks anyway"she went down stairs. and told me my brother and my dad the story. dad said "Call the police you must those ring were a lot of money talk to someone who works here do something!" We called the the police and mom told the story. they were going to use a special tool on the head cleaning lady and another one. she said "I found it in the iron bag. Mom was so happy. "ThanK You"And that was it .The End

Something bad happened to my family. It all started when I was at school. Right after recess we
had to go home so when I left from school I realized my dad was not going the right direction
so I told him " where are we going" my dad said " to a hotel"
" why" I said "because there are bugs around are apartment so they will put these stuff around and
people will get sick.
